Game 1 the BIG Reds faced East Chatham #1. The BIG Reds defeated East Chatham #1 13-10 in a full game, with a come from behind win in the 6th inning. The BIG Reds had 20 hits and East Chatham had 15 hits.

Defense -
Will, Sticks, Sam, Matt, Drew, Evan (twice) and Andrew (twice) all had put-outs in the game.
Drew, Sam, Christian, Matt (twice) and Andrew (twice) all caught pop-flies.
Will and Edward caught line drives.
Although there were some errors out there, we had at least three outstanding plays in the field in tonight's game. Along with their hitting - three boys will get combined Offensive/Defensive Stars of the Game.
Star Awards:
Will and Edward both made huge diving catches of line drives in the bottom of the sixth for the first two outs of the inning. Both of those would have been (could have been, SHOULD have been!) hits which would resulted in runs, and could have lost us the game. But the boys made GREAT plays (Will at short stop, Edward at third base) and saved the game!
Will also went 3-4 scoring twice, and Edward went 2-3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs, so they pulled through for us on BOTH sides of the field!
The third offensive/defensive star of the game goes to Evan. He hit 3-4 (with 5 RBI and a run scored), including the inning-ending (and ultimately game winning) 3RBI double in the top of the 6th inning. Defensively, he was amazing too - he stretched, reached and caught every ball thrown to him at first, plus made two GREAT stops of grounders, diving to the ground (and getting DIRTY!) to stop the ball, and race back to first for the out.
